About Us

West Waterford Press is a new independent Irish book publisher and media producer. We might, in time, publish it all - poetry collections, short story collections, memoirs, novels, and perhaps even works of grand literature.At the moment our efforts are concentrated on the soon-to-be-released second-edition of our debut novel The Aoife Effect (the first edition sold out!), and our even-sooner-to-be-released (August 29th, 2026) first poetry anthology, Duanaire - collected waterfords.

Our Work

In time, West Waterford Press might indeed pursue high art and high artists, but never at the expense of entertainment; gripping, accessible, page-turning entertainment.Everything from full-length fictional prose narrative (we value plots unfolded by the characters' actions, we relish stories set locally, and worlds created by Irish authors with an Irish audience in mind) to bitesize poems (just twenty-four syllables in length, imbued with myriad emotions and a lifetime's haul of fleeting moments).Check out The Aoife Effect, and Duanaire - both coming soon.West Waterford Press is proud of its alliance with West Waterford Arts Group).We believe new creative writing talent can be discovered in old places, as well as the new. Sure, we look for the old heads on young shoulders, but also to the young heads on old shoulders (maybe even the weary heads on tired shoulders, the middle-aged heads who really need a shoulder rub, and those old enough to not lament youth but relive it). Fresh talent isn't always fresh-faced.
